  Veneers

  Receiving porcelain veneers requires two visits to our office over the course of about two weeks. Sometimes no preparation of the tooth is required. Sometimes a portion of the front surface of your tooth may be need to be removed to accommodate the veneer. This will consist mainly of enamel, and it is roughly equal in thickness to an egg shell. Next, a mold is taken of your tooth and the surrounding teeth, which will be used to craft your veneer to your smile’s exact specifications. In about two weeks, your veneers will be ready for placement. You will return for a second visit that will begin with the dentist creating small etchings in the surface of your tooth, which will help the bonding agent hold the veneer in place. A special curing light will help accelerate the bonding process. Finally, you can leave our office with a beautiful new smile you will be excited to share with everyone you meet.
